Dr. Nina Leifeste’s journey started in Orange County, where she was not only raised but also where she created a deep connection to her community. After graduating with highest honors from Bridge City High School, her academic career led her to Lamar University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology. However, it was her time at the University of Texas Dental Branch (UTDB) Houston that really impacted and shaped her career.
In 1988, Dr. Leifeste graduated with honors, earning her Doctorate of Dental Surgery. After this, her thirst for knowledge didn’t end there. She ended up pursuing a post-doctoral fellowship in General Practice and Hospital Dentistry through Hermann Hospital in order to further hone her skills and dedication to her profession.

Dr. Leifeste’s commitment to excellence can be seen far beyond her own practice. She is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, showcasing her dedication to continuous learning and professional development. As a life member of the American Dental Association and active member of various other professional organizations, Dr. Leifeste stays on top of the most recent advancements in dentistry to make sure her patients have the highest standard of care.
A Heart for Service
What truly sets Dr. Leifeste apart from the rest is her steadfast commitment to serving her community. This commitment can be seen in her numerous philanthropic engagements, including the establishment of the Nina S. Leifeste, DDS Community Outreach Endowment. It is through his endowment that Dr. Leifeste supports initiatives like the UT Health Mobile Dental Van, which provides essential dental care to the underserved populations across Greater Houston and rural East Texas.
Dr. Leifeste’s philanthropic spirit doesn’t end there though. As an adjunct or volunteer faculty member at UT Health Houston School of Dentistry for over thirty years, she has mentored numbers of dental students, seeking to instill in them not only clinical skills, but also a sense of responsibility to give back to their communities.

She has been recognized as a Distinguished Alumnus by Bridge City High School and honored as a Texas Dentist of the Year Finalist by the Texas Academy of General Dentistry.
